The Instructors

Roben Bellomo
Roben Bellomo grew up frequenting the Detroit Museum of Art and other art venues inside and outside of Detroit, Michigan.  With Roben's mother being an avid musician, and his father, a professional artist and entrepreneur, Roben had many opportunities to explore avariety of creative avenues. The first time Roben picked up a camera during high school is when he learned of his true passion for photography.  The marriage of creativity and technicality somehow spoke to him. Capturing specks of time and being able to explore them time and time again captivated his interest in photography forever. Roben passed up a photography scholarship to pursue a degree in education.   After graduation Roben spent 10 years as a full time educator, nurturing his appreciation for the constant challenge and reward of learning.  Roben thrived at truly inspiring kids to apply themselves wholeheartedly and pursue their dreams. While teaching those 10 years, Roben explored photography as a hobby and a personal release; however, it never felt like enough.  Listening to the advice he once offered his students, Roben decided to pursue his own dream of making photographic artistry full time. Roben gives back to the photographic community through service.  He earned two President’s Awards during his first two years participating in the Indianapolis Professional Photographers Guild serving 4 years as 2nd and 1st Vice President and is currently serving  as President.  Roben is the Assistant Director for the Winona School of Professional Photographers. Roben serves as an Indiana State CPP Liason to aid other photographers in their growth and volunteers throughout his community including Indy Honor Flight. In the Fall of 2013, after living in San Diego, California for 6 years, Roben and his wife, Adrienne, returned to the Midwest and reside in Carmel, Indiana.  At the sacrifice of warmth and sunshine, Roben, his wife, and their two children are closer to what is most important to them, family. Being driving distance to most of their extended family is a true blessing they do not take for granted.  While not working or spending time with family, Roben can befound strumming the guitar, playing soccer, or conversing with a friend while sipping coffee or bourbon.

David VanDeman
David has studied and practiced photography and Photoshop for over 20 years and will gladly talk your ears off about anything related to those topics. He was launched into working as a photographer in 2009 when he started shooting for the Naptown Roller Girls, Indy's semi-pro roller derby league. His interest in creating unique and dramatic images of the athletes led him to study lighting and fashion photography so he began working for a number of fashion blogs and developing his interest in compositing. Today, David's work is focused primarily on High School seniors, actor headshots and portraits, as well as some commercial work that draws on his compositing skills. He began teaching various levels of Lightroom and Photoshop four years ago and is currently working toward Adobe’s ACE certification for Photoshop.

Lori McCoy
Lori McCoy opened her photography studio, Bella Vita Photography, in Hamilton,Ohio, in 2007. She earned her CPP in 2010, and her Photographic Craftsman in 2018. Lori believes in always having the learning mode button “on” in her own life, and loves sharing her knowledge and passion with other photographers. Her favorite part of teaching is when a student has that “aha!” moment, where everything finally clicks and makes sense! Lori began teaching Photoshop classes through the PPA Super One Day program (where she has had students fly in from places as far away as Texas and Florida to attend her classes!), and she has also presented programs to several PPA affiliate groups, like Professional Photographers of Southwest Ohio. She is also a Trustee with the Winona School of Professional Photography. Lori is mom to Kaitrin (28), Travis (25) and Ian (23), and shares her home in Hamilton with her partner Scott, a loveable yellow tabby cat named Moses, and a rambunctious Aussie /Blue Heeler mix named Lily.

Tally Springer
Talita Springer, also known as Tally, is the owner of Lux Studio, a photography studio specializing in Fashion Portraits and serving Dayton, Ohio and the surrounding areas. Tally is an award winning, published, and Certified Professional Photographer. She began her professional journey while living in Germany in 2011.
