from a Birmingham Jail Today

Thursday, November 4th, 1-2:20pm

Campus Center Boardrooms, Saint Leo University

Please join us for this Center for Catholic-Jewish Studies' fall event featuring renowned Jewish philosopher and theologian, Rabbi David Novak, in dialogue with the prolific theologian, Dr. Vincent Lloyd, of Villanova University, on the significance of Martin Luther King’s “Letter from a Birmingham Jail” today. NOTE: Registration is not required to watch the livestream: https://vimeo.com/event/1235830

NOTE: Registration is required for the in-person event only. You do not need to register if you prefer to watch the event via the livestream, which can be found by clicking here or by cutting and pasting this URL into your browser: https://vimeo.com/event/1235830. For faculty who wish to bring classes please indicate how many students will attend with you. If you’d like to prepare students for the discussion on this topic, please ask them to view this video, and then assign MLK’s letter as a class reading. For those interested in building a course session on the topic, you might find this this PBS teaching resource helpful since it provides study questions, and it shows how to use the video and letter in the classroom.
