To celebrate the launch of the Forever Saint Paul Challenge, The Saint Paul Foundation will attempt to break the Guinness World Record for the "Largest Picture Made of Lite-Brite" on Saturday, February 16, 2013, at the newly renovated Union Depot, 214 East Fourth Street, Saint Paul.
This giant art installation will be 12-feet tall by 24-feet long and filled with 520,000+ Lite-Brite pegs. It will feature a mural created by award-winning Saint Paul artist Ta-coumba T. Aiken. Activities for the public begin at 3:00 p.m., including super-sized games, live music, food and a chance to submit your million-dollar idea. Come early and be part of history by adding the final Lite-Brite pegs before we flip the switch!
At 7:00 p.m., Saint Paul Mayor Chris Coleman, Carleen Rhodes and a Guinness World Record judge will host an official lighting ceremony for the world's biggest Lite-Brite.
The Saint Paul Foundation’s Forever Saint Paul Challenge is brought to you by the Minnesota Idea Open. All Minnesotans are invited to answer the question: What would you do with $1 million to make Saint Paul great? Learn more at MNIdeaOpen.org/foreversaintpaul.
