Fundamental Building Blocks of Finance 

In partnership with the Catalyst Center for Nonprofit Management, the Bucks-Mont Collaborative presents a workshop on basic organizational finances. The financial function is foundational to the health and stability of any organization. How do you monitor your financial health?  What reports should you look at on a regular basis?  What should you watch out for to comply with federal and state regulations?   In this session we will:

• Identify key components of your financial statements and what to monitor
• Determine what reports should be shared with your Board at every meeting and what questions your Board members should be asking
• Discuss answers to typical funder questions
• Review budgeting principles
• Discuss the differences between the organizational budget and the program budget used for grants
• Review federal and state (and multi-state) reporting requirements
• Identify financial best practices 
• Introduction to Key Performance Indicators and Dashboards
