Elected officials, business and nonprofit executives, leaders in higher education, local government staff, and professionals and individuals interested in climate change and sustainability in Southeast Florida should participate in the 2015 Climate Summit to further their engagement on these issues, network, and promote their own initiatives.

Monroe County, the City of Key West, Islamorada, Village of Islands and the City of Marathon are pleased to host the 7th Annual Southeast Florida Regional Climate Leadership Summit on December 1-3, 2015. The annual summit is coordinated by the Southeast Florida Regional Climate Change Compact, a partnership between Miami-Dade, Broward, Monroe and Palm Beach counties, their municipalities and other partners.

The Climate Leadership Summit is a major regional event focused on facilitating climate-related collaboration and knowledge sharing. The summit attracts innovative thinkers and leaders from business, government, academia and the non-profit community to exchange ideas and dialogue at panel discussions and networking breaks.


The Casa Marina is booked. Overflow rooms have been reserved at The Reach, A Waldorf Astoria Resort, 1435 Simonton Street, Key West, FL  33040.  The rate is $229.00 for a single/double.  Rooms are limited and the cut-off date for making reservations is Friday, November 23.  Call 1-888-303-5717 to make a reservation.

Two Nature Based Tours are being offered: 

  1. December 1st from 9:00 a.m. - Noon - Snorkeling Field Trip with The Nature Conservancy "Coral Reefs and Climate Change" (reservation required)
  2. December 3rd from 1:15 p.m. - 2:45 p.m. - Conch Tour Train of the City of Key West: Climate Adaptation Field Trip (reservation required)

Cancellation Policy:  Please note we wil be unable to provide refunds for cancellations received after November 13, 2015.

An Oceanside Luau, Pig Roast and Silent Auction is scheduled from 6:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday, December 2nd.  The Luau will feature Reel Ting Steel Drum Band.  The band's Keys-style steel drummers and musicians will make the performance an amazing event you won't want to miss.

A Silent Auction will take place at the Luau.
