Core Competencies for Mediating Child and Spousal Support 

 This one and one-half day mediation training will be presented Thursday, September 8th from 9:00 am to 4:30pm and Friday, September 9th from 9:00am to 12:30 pm.  The training is designed for experienced family law attorneys, attorneys new to family law, mediators, and other professionals. Terri Breer, Attorney and Mediator with over 30 years of experience in family law mediation will present a comprehensive training along with Special Guest Trainer, Steve Newman, CPA, CFF & CDFA.  Curriculum for the training will include gathering and interpreting financial information relevant to support determinations, determining Income available for support, calculating Guideline child support, handling bonus and overtime compensation, using  Family Code 4320 factor to negotiate spousal support, child related tax exemptions and credits, financial strategies for allocating income and meeting financial needs, maximizing tax benefits, and managing emotionsand expectations of clients when mediating support issues.     Fee for training $725.00.  Includes breakfast both days, lunch on Thursday and parking.
