Mandatory Orientation and Annual Renewal Training (Riverside) 

This class meets the DODD training requirement for new and existing employees outlined in the Provider Certification Rule. 

Any person or agency that provides services to individuals with developmental disabilities must obtain certification from the Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities. This includes providers applying to deliver Medicaid Waiver Services under the Level One (L1) and Individual Options (IO) Waiver, as well as non-Medicaid funded services. Individuals applying for certification must complete eight hours of training in the topics listed below, which reflect Ohio Dept of DD's most recent updates.

Meets requirements for both initial provider certification and mandatory annual training for current providers.

Topics include: bullet point Overview of Serving People with Developmental Disabilities, including implementation of ISP's and Behavior Support strategies bullet point Universal Precautions for infection control bullet point Role and responsibilities of independent provider with regard to services including person-centered planning, community integration, self-determination, self-advocacy, and positive culture bullet point Rights of Individuals  bullet point Rule 5123:2-17-02 including MUIs and UIs, and Health and Welfare Alerts issued by the Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities (also covers alerts issued within the past 12 months)

Fee:  Free!

Speaker:  Deb Easley is the Director of The Academy.  Since 1998 she has also worked for LADD, Inc., serving in several Program Management roles.  Deb's areas of expertise include teaching, curriculum writing and supervisor development.

Continuing Education:  Eight hours of Ohio DODD Continuing Professional Development units are available.

Lunch:  Lunch is not included.  Due to time restraints we encourage you to pack a lunch to eat on site.

Registration Deadline:  Two business days before the class, or when class is full

Cancellation Policy:  Cancellations must be received by email at least 48 hours in advance, otherwise you will be charged $25.00 for the class.  Thank you for your understanding of our policy.
