Program Details

The Canadian Consulate in Philadelphia in partnership with Aria Health Systems; Barnabas Health; Geisinger Health System; Hahnemann University Hospital; Horizon Blue Cross; Public Health Management Corporation; Summit Health; Tenet Healthcare Corporation; Thomas Jefferson University Hospital; and the University of Pennsylvania Health System; is matching innovative Canadian health care & solution providers with the Mid-Atlantics leading payers & providers through a one-day series of speed-dating and educational sessions. The eHealth Summit will:-

  • Match progressive health care providers and payers with innovative early-stage health care information technology companies to showcase and accelerate innovation
  • Accelerate meaningful use of health IT and health information exchange, better health care access, provision and outcomes and lower error rates and costs. 

A limited number of tickets are available to the public to participate in this historic event.

Registration

Admission charge is $85.00 for Fellows of The College of Physicians of Philadelphia and $95.00 for Non-Fellow on credit card only and includes breakfast, lunch and admission to cocktail reception with exclusive cuisine from Starr Events. Registration is at 7:30 am with breakfast and networking starting at 8:00 am. Program will start at 9:00 am and will conclude with a networking reception at 5:00 pm.

Location

The Hub is conveniently located directly adjacent to Amtrak’s 30th Street Station on the Mezzanine level of Philadelphia’s iconic high-rise the Cira Center. An innovative LEED-Certified conference facility, attendees from DC, New York, Boston and Philadelphia can arrive at the Hub Cira Center by rail and attend a world-class meeting without even having to set foot outside!

  Keynote Speakers
William E. Reichman, MD 
Dr. William E. Reichman is President and Chief Executive Officer of Baycrest, one of the world’s premier academic health sciences centres focused on aging and brain function.  Dr. Reichman, an internationally-known expert in geriatric mental health and dementia is also Professor of Psychiatry on the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Toronto.  He is a noted authority on the delivery of mental health and dementia services in nursing home settings.Dr. Reichman received a B.S. from Trinity College in 1979 and an M.D. degree from the State University of New York at Buffalo, School of Medicine in 1984.  He pursued residency training in general adult psychiatry at the University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA) Neuropsychiatric Institute and completed fellowship training in neurobehavior at the UCLA Reed Neurological Research Institute.


Dr. Reichman is a former President of the American Association for Geriatric Psychiatry and the Geriatric Mental Health Foundation and serves as a consultant to the Civil Rights Division of the United States Department of Justice on dementia and mental health-care delivery within nursing homes.  He previously served as the Senior Health columnist for the Star Ledger, New Jersey’s highest circulation newspaper and has been interviewed and quoted by most of the major media outlets in the United States and Canada. Among honors received, Dr. Reichman is named among the Best Doctors in America and Canada and previously has been recognized by the New Jersey Society on Aging as Gerontologist of the Year.  He is a recipient of a Bronze Telly award for an educational documentary film entitled, Reflections of Memory Lost: Understanding Alzheimer’s disease.

We are in the midst of a global demographic shift that will lead to an aging population in most countries. By 2050, 25% of the population in developed countries will be 65 or older. This demographic shift will have profound impacts, not least on the delivery of healthcare. Canada is developing cutting-edge healthcare technologies and world-class solutions that will benefit not only our own citizens, but the global community.    Reactor panel of local experts with discuss the implications of Innovations in Healthy Aging.


Jean-Luc Neptune, MD, Senior Vice President, Health 2.0 LLC

Jean-Luc (“JL”) Neptune, MD MBA is Senior Vice President at Health 2.0.  In his role JL is responsible for managing Health 2.0's innovation competition ("Challenge") program which includes a recently awarded multi-million dollar grant from the Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology (ONC). In addition to managing the Challenge program, JL is also responsible for building Health 2.0's Innovation Community, a network of software developers, designers, researchers, entrepreneurs and other individuals interested in driving innovation in the health industry.  Jean-Luc is a veteran of Gerson Lehrman Group, the world's leading expert network company, where he was responsible for managing GLG's pioneering network of industry experts.  He has also co-founded two Health 2.0 startups including Healogica, an online clinical trials matching platform, and ExpertConsensus, a virtual second opinion service.  JL earned his BA and MD degrees from Columbia University and an MBA from the Wharton School.  He completed his residency in internal medicine at Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center and is licensed to practice medicine in New York. JL is an angel investor in a number of web-based ventures and has consulted for the New York Academy of Sciences.

 
Sean Cassidy, Director, Healthcare Products, IBMSoftware Group
Sean Cassidy is Director, Healthcare Products, for the Information Management division of IBM Software Group. Sean and his team are responsible for product strategy and management of the division's healthcare related offerings. Sean was previously Senior Vice President and General Manager, Healthcare, for Initiate Systems, Inc., which was acquired by IBM in 2010. He led Initiate’s healthcare business globally and was responsible for driving its growth. Prior to joining Initiate in 2004, Sean held executive positions at a number of enterprise software and e-commerce companies, including London based YouDevise, Ltd., OurHouse.com, and TenFold Corporation. He began his career at Andersen Consulting (now Accenture) and has broad technology and consulting experience in the healthcare, financial services, utilities, retail, telecommunications and transportation industries.
