No matter how aware you are, this is a really important topic. October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month. Calvetta Watlington from FAS is our speaker for September 23rd and she is going to help us kick off Domestic Violence Awareness Month.

About Calvetta Watlington:
Calvetta Watlington is a Native of Alamance County. She is a tribal citizen of the Occaneechi Band of the Saponi Nation. She received her bachelor’s degree in social work from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. Calvetta is also a certified Victim Service Practitioner with nearly a decade of experience working with both adult and child victims of domestic violence and sexual assault. She is currently the Director of Residential Services for Family Abuse Services of Alamance County. She believes in building strong communities through empowerment, education, and active engagement. Some of her favorite things are traveling, reading, and cooking.
