"Sustainability Issues in Cook County"

Over the past decade, the term "Sustainability" has caught on in the Boardroom, courtroom and living room. IWWSG is kicking off the new 2019-2020 meeting season with a dinner meeting on this timely topic at Tuscany Restaurant. Speacker Deb Stone, Cheif Sustainability Officer and Director, Department of Enviornmental & Sustainability (DES), Cook County will speak on "Sustainability Issues in Cook County", including a new program that should come out this winter, Commercial PACE (Property Assessed Clean Energy, low cost long term financing for renewable energy or energy effciency) for industrial, commercial and some residential entities. Also, the 2019 E. Ted Erickson "Distinguished Environmental Professional Award" will be presented to Ms. Stone at this meeting.

Deborah Stone is a graduate of the Harris School at the University of Chicago, where she earned a Master's degree in public policy. She came to Cook County after working at the Illinois Department of Natural Resources on open space preservation, recreation, and water supply. Stone is also a former executive director of the nonprofit Metropolitan Planning Council and has worked on sustainable urban development.

Memberships For the Meeting Season 2019-2020

Corporate Memberships in the IWWSG are $130 Corporate Memberships include up to six individuals from each company to attend meetings at Member Rates.

Individual memberships are available for $25, and intended for those in the environmental community who are not currently associated with a corporate entity.

We encourage you to become a member of the IWWSG to support our ability to present speakers and have meetings at a variety of venues.  Members also receive significant discounts on meeting registrations.
