This workshop will provide a deep dive into the Best Value Approach (BVA) that includes: Selection, Clarification/Pre-Award, and Execution/Project Management. The purpose of this training is to gain a more in depth understanding of how IFMA Fellow Dr. Dean identifies and utilizes expertise to drive cost down and increase the performance of FM services. The training will be go into the details of running and implementing BVA.

A thought leader in the facilities management, procurement, project management, and supply chain industries for more than three decades. He is also a respected adviser and mentor within IFMA. Dean has received numerous awards for the implementation of the best value approach that includes how an entire country (the Netherlands government) changed their model in buying not only construction, but professional services as well. He is credited with establishing best value programs at six different universities around the world. This includes receiving a Fulbright Scholar award to share state-of-the-art best value procurement model and project management research/practices for the people of Botswana, Africa. Dean’s groundbreaking best value approach [model for the future] was integrated into a graduate program and put into practice at ASU for outsourcing food services. The results at ASU led to an investment of $100 million first of its kind and the vendor is still surpassing their milestone goals for the University.
