The Infant Mortality Alliance 2017 Summit: A Focus on Poverty presents an opportunity for our community to take steps in understanding the impact that poverty has on our most vulnerable families.
In Central Oklahoma, progress has been made in reducing infant mortality. Yet, we continue to have one of the highest infant mortality rates in the nation. Poverty plays a pivotal role in these rates. Food deserts, teen pregnancy, and health disparities are concerns for far too many families.
Join the discussion and address the impact poverty has on our babies, families, and community. Attendees will leave with a deeper understanding of the causes and consequences of poverty, the effects of policies, and tools and resources to reduce infant mortality.
