You will receive a description of the types of funding your school receives and what those funds could pay for to equitably serve students. Walk away with a tool to use to compare what your school should have to what it will have to help you have a conversation with your principal about your school’s budget.

•           "Preparing NOW for AFTER High School": Learn about what schools with more successful students do to support them in being prepared for college or training. You will receive a description of things you should monitor and actions you should be taking as a parent or caregiver each year to make sure your students are on track. Walk away with a tool to monitor the courses and credits your student earns to make sure they have what they need to graduate and be prepared for his/her next step after high school.

•           "Elements of Effective Teaching": Experience a lesson taught by a current Pittsburgh Public School Teacher. Participate in a discussion about elements of effective teaching and the strategies that teachers use in the classroom.
