June Chapter Meeting

Friday, June 14
11:45 a.m. – 1 p.m.

We have an exciting program planned for the June Membership Meeting.

Consumers crave and are focusing on online video more than ever. Visual storytelling is one of the most effective ways to reach your audience. Monika Rued will show you how to elevate your content marketing, reach a diverse audience, how to easily incorporate visual storytelling into your marketing strategy, and tap into consumer engagement.

BIO:

Monika Rued is the public information officer for Arkansas State Parks — a division of Arkansas Department of Parks and Tourism — a visual storyteller, seeker of soft lighting, and a recovering journalist.

She manages Arkansas State Parks digital properties, including their website, blog, social media, and email marketing. This gives her the pleasure of marketing our 52 state parks peppered across Arkansas.

Monika is a self-proclaimed “media mutt” with a unique blend of print, broadcast, and digital media experience. She began her career at THV 11, the CBS affiliate in Little Rock, where she co-produced the top morning show in the market and then became the station’s first online producer and digital manager. Her team was awarded an Edward R. Morrow Regional Best Website Award and Associated Press awards. She says one of her greatest achievements was the role she played in helping families, especially women and children. Monika managed MomsLikeMe.com, which gave her the opportunity to do weekly on-air segments about parenting, stress, and resources available for parents in our communities, just to name a few topics she covered. Community connection is important to her, as is living her values.

After leaving THV 11, Monika managed client social media accounts at the Arkansas Times and then became publisher of Savvy Kids and Arkansas Wild magazines.

Monika has been a visual storyteller throughout her career, adding videography, photography, and graphic design to her toolbox to elevate authentic storytelling. Creating video blogs, graphics, and slideshows connects her to audiences in a meaningful way.

She is married, has a son, and a rescue dog. Together, they like to rock climb, hike, paddle, listen to live music, camp, travel, visit Arkansas state parks, and enjoy local fare.

This event is FREE for PRSA Members. There is a $25 charge for nonmembers and a $15 charge for students. Please RSVP by Wednesday, March 15th, at noon.
