July 7th: Photo Assignment Week (FULL)
July 14th: Photo Assignment Week II
Each day students will have a simulated photo assignment such as portrait sitting, magazine shoot, journalism assignment, event coverage and travel pictures. We will have brief lessons and reviews at the teaching space and travel around Boston to do our photo assignments. Unlike any other program, students use professional digital SLR cameras (Nikon D70 and D100) provided by Big Picture. Check out photos from Street Photo Week 2013.
July 21st and July 28th: Two-week Fiction Film
Students will learn screenplay structure, story development, directing, acting, filming and editing. This year's fiction class is two weeks instead of one. This will give the class more time to film and edit our movie. Editing is done in iMovie. Also this year, we will have the option of using a screenplay already written by members our "film club". Check The High Price, fiction week 2013.
August 4th: Documentary Week
Students will act like documentarians traveling around Boston capturing dynamic images. Students will learn the basics about making great images on cameras supplied by the program. They will learn how to catch a decisive moment and work with symbols in their imagry. Brief lessons on editing and manipulating images will be given in Lightroom. All lessons and reviews will take place at Big Picture teaching space and photo shoots take place in the Boston area.
Unlike any other program, students use professional DSLRs, Nikon D100, D70, supplied by Big Picture! Check out photos from Street Photo 2013.
