June Luncheon

Join us on Tuesday, June 18th at the Civic Center as we explore

                    Working Chattooga County                                                                           

 Emily Tippett, with the Small Business Development Center (SBDC), will kick us off with a look at the programs the SBDC offers which help businesses get started and Grow Smart. Having grown up under the wing of an entrepreneurial father, who owns a catering business for 25+ years, Emily has a first-hand knowledge of challenges and rewards of running a small business. She values community   involvement and enjoys her role as liaison to the 13 North Georgia counties served by the Rome Office of the SBDC.

 

   
We'll also hear from Georgia Northwestern Technical College (GNTC). Vice President of Academic Affairs, Elizabeth Anderson, who is responsible for the administration and evaluation of instructional services at all six GNTC campuses, off-site locations, and online education. She also is responsible for new program development and implementation, library services, accessibility services, tutoring, and apprenticeships.

 

The local high schools each have a work-based learning program in place, and we'll have information on that for companies. Placing students in real jobs is what these high school programs are designed to do.
If available, the coordinators will be attending the luncheon to present and answer questions.
