12/6/19 - Better Preps, One Visit Crowns, and Small Diameter Implants: Things You Can Do to Help Patients and the Practice

Course Description:

As General Dentists, we are constantly put into clinical situations that can be managed in different ways.  So, the more treatment options we can offer to patients, the better the chances we have to help patients with their dental problems.  This course will cover how to be more efficient in prepping teeth for C+B cases, and offer One-Visit-Crowns (OVC) and Small Diameter Implants (SDI) to your patients.  

Also, attendees will be shown what preppred tooth margins should look like, and how to create them.  The key to predictable, functional, and esthetically pleasing C+B cases, is producing margins that everyone can see (the Lab Technician, the Dental Assistant, and the Dentist).  This allows your lab to build upon a great foundation, the impression-making to be more predictable, and the provisional process becomes faster.

Learning Objectives:

1. State two criteria that C+B labs are looking for in digital scanned preps and impressions or traditional impressions. 
2. Explain how visible margins are created.
3. Identify two components of a one-visit-crown procedure.
4. Explain how to place a OVC using indirect chair-side technique.
5. Learn how small diameter implants can benefit your existing denture patients.
6. Recognize the indications and contraindications for the use of OVC and SDI.
7. Learn how OVC and SDI can be incorporated into your practice.

Speaker Information:

Dr. Richard Lipscomb Jr., General Dentist, is a Restorative and Mini Dental Implant lecturer.  he also runs a private practice in Mitchellville, Martland near Annapolis.  He has been performing restorative procedures for the past 20 years, and has been placing mini dental implants since 2006.  During that time, he has overseen hundreds of MDI cases, and has gained the experience to train other doctors on placing mini dental implants.  Dr. Lipscomb has also written articles, conducted seminars, and given hands-on training on restorative procedures and mini dental implants.  His modern office offers Invisalign, Sleep Appliances, and Implants as its specialty services, along with routine dental services. 

Dr. Lipscomb's unique dental experience includes both private practice and public health services in community health centers.  By delivering restorative procedures (Resins/Composites) in a variety of dental environments, he has spent years working with a wide range of resin materials to suit many situations over a long period of time.

Evaluation and Certificate:

All attendees are required to sign-in in order to receive credits.  Sign-in sheets will be available at the registration desk for up to 30 minutes prior to the start of the program, and 30 minutes after the start of the program.  Attendees are expected to stay until the conclusion of the day in order to receive the access code to complete their evaluation and receive the credits for the day.

An evaluation will be emailed to you within two business days of the program's completion.  You will need the access code announced at the conclusion of the day in order to complete the evaluation.  Once you complete and submit this evaluation, your certificate will automatically generate to be saved or printed.

Dentist - Community Provider: $195 prior to 11/22/2019; $205 starting 11/22/2019
Hygienist - Community Provider: $159 prior to 11/22/2019; $169 starting 11/22/2019
Assistant/Staff - Community Provider: $145 prior to 11/22/2019; $155 starting 11/22/2019
VA VISN 5 Employee (with ID): $35 prior to 11/22/2019; $45 starting 11/22/2019

Prices increase two weeks prior to the program date as indicated above.  Registration will close at the end of the day on December 3rd; however, we do accept onsite registration as long as space allows.  

Registration includes a continental breakfast starting at 7:30am and a buffet lunch.

If you are registering as a VA VISN 5 Employee, you will be required to show proof of current employment via government issued VA ID Badge at check in.  If you do not have your badge, you will not be granted access to the program unless you pay the regular community rate.
