Native Plant Gardening with Soil Biology: How to Foster Optimal Soil Health

Learn the importance of the Soil Food Web and how you as a gardener can become a microbe farmer. We will discuss the interaction between plants and microbes as well as the tools we use to reintroduce indigenous microorganisms back into the soil profile. Discover how to use local inputs that are well suited to grow plants in your biome.

For as long as I can remember, I have been facinated with natural systems.  It started with growing up on a homestead and culminated into starting a Soil Biology consulting business.  I have worked in the high-tech industry for most of my adult life.  I decided to make the transition from corporate life to running a business focused on helping farmers transition from conventional to biological farming.  I am exceptionally well positioned to take what I learned from the high-tech industry and apply it to the agricultural industry.  My goal is to help accelerate and drive biological farming into the mainstream.

Wild Ones Front Range member Christine Gust will be moderating the program and has completed the foundation programs by the Soil Food Web.

This approach has opened my eyes to how the diversity and quality of beneficial microbes in the soil are the key to reducing weeds, water usage, pests, and diseases - all of interest to us as gardeners and stewards of the land.
