Cookies, Creativity, and the Cross
Description: Art is a form of prayer and a way to experience the spiritual journey. Using Karla's book, Creativity and Divine Surprise, we will explore the unexpected twists and turns of the spiritual journey. We will examine and share our faith walk as we experience art as a tool for discerning God's voice, healing our hurts, and finding peace. Our experiments in creative expression will be shared. No artistic training is necessary. Required reading: Karla Kincannon, Creativity and Divine Surprise: Finding the Place of Your Resurrection (Nashville: Upper Room Books, 2005). Books will be available for purchase. Leader: Reverend Dr. Karla M. Kincannon. Karla believes God's gift of creativity is an essential tool for navigating the spiritual journey, and a necessary element for the corporate life of the church. She invites others to be courageously creative as a way of knowing God, embodying God's image, and building God's kingdom on earth. Cost: $30 for supplies, cookies, and a copy of Creativity and Divine Surprise. |
