FREEHAND DRAWING & VISUALIZATION SKILLS FOR ARCHITECTS AND

DESIGN PROFESSIONALS-PART 2

A hands-on drawing workshop to help architects and design professionals learn to draw with greater skill and confidence.  We will explore comparative drawing techniques (drawing what you see) and imaginative drawing skills (drawing from your ideas).  Be prepared to learn and draw with immediate coaching feedback as you work.  The workshop is broken into two parts.  It is highly recommended you participate in both, but not required. 

Taught by Award Winning Architectural Illustrator, Bruce Bondy.  Bruce is from the Chicago area with 30 years experience as an architectural illustrator. He is trained in classical academic realism drawing and painting techniques and incorporates many of those skills into his classes.

Each session will have a separate registration page, and will be limited to 20 participants to allow for instructor-student dialogue.

SESSION II:  Perspective drawing skills, casting shadows, reflection, controlling values, abbreviated drawing techniques, composition, and quick sketch drawing exercises.

Pricing for Saturday:

AIA, Allied Professional, NOMA, IIDA Members: $100 for a 4 hour session

Non-Member: $115 for a 4 hour session

Materials:

Favorite pens, pencils, and a straightedge for finding vanishing points on an 11” x 17” sheet.  If you have any wireframe models of your projects you would like to work on, bring them in formatted 8.5 x 11 or 11 x 17.  If at all possible bring them as black and white hidden-line drawings.  This is not a requirement, Bruce will have plenty of examples for students to work from.

Instructor Bio:

Bruce Bondy, founder of Bondy Studio, near Chicago, IL is an architectural illustrator with over 25 years experience.  Bondy Studio has worked on a wide range of domestic and foreign projects in both hand drawn and digital media.  He is known for on location (charrette) drawings, working quickly and collaboratively with clients to produce evocative hand drawn sketches.  He studied design, art, and architecture at the Harrington College of Design and finished his formal studies with four years of academic training at the School of Representational Art, Chicago.
