Facial Rejuvenation Certifcation Part 1 - Acupuncture, Acupressure, Massage with Virginia Doran, MS, LAc, LMT
Beauty comes from the inside out! Treating the underlying cause of aging and imbalance is preferable to masking the symptoms. With this highly effective method of facial rejuvenation, one can simultaneously benefit a person’s appearance as well as overall health.
Workshop learning objectives:
- Understand how to asses which meridians are involved in the aging process.
- Learn traditional and empirical points for treating signs of aging and their causes.
- Learn specific needle technique for treating various signs of aging.
- Learn safety concerns and contraindications to Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture (FRA).
- Learn the benefits and underlying mechanisms of FRA from both a Chinese medicine and Western medical perspective.
- Learn how to customize a facial rejuvenation treatment utilizing both point selection and technique for various skin conditions such as acne, dry skin, age spots, sagging skin, wrinkles, scars, double chins, as well as bags and dark circles under the eye.
Schedule:
Day 1 - *Friday 1pm-6pm (5 CEUS): Massage, Acupressure and Qi Gong Massage techniques.
Day 2 - Saturday 9am-6pm (7.5 CEUS): Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture techniques.
Day 3 - Sunday 9am-6pm (7.5 CEUS): Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture technique practice and certification.
***Please note: You are expected to bring an outside volunteer on Sunday from 3-5 pm who will receive a facial massage and acupuncture treatment from you. Certification is granted upon completion of a written and practical exam. If you are travelling from outside of Metro Vancouver, please indicate so on your registration form and we will help you find a local volunteer.
***Prerequisites: Participants must be an RAc, RTCMP, DrTCM, ND, or other health-care practitioner licensed to practice acupuncture. Proof of license will be requested.
***Due to CNPBC insurance regulations, we will only be able to allow student registrations for Boucher Institute of Naturopathic Medicine students, all years. Unfortunately, due to insurance regulations, no Acupuncture students under the CTCMA will be allowable.***
Virginia Doran, M.S., L.Ac., L.M.T.: As an international teacher and practitioner of and developer of her own method of Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture, Virginia Doran is a recognized expert in the field. Ms. Doran has been a teacher and lecturer in the field of holistic health since 1980 Ms. Doran has been licensed in acupuncture since 1995 and massage therapy since 1979. Ms. Doran had the great honor to be the first Westerner to teach acupuncture in Japan. Virginia has received extensive publicity for her work on major television networks, radio, and various magazines and newspapers.
Ms. Doran is currently writing two books on Facial Rejuvenation – a professional book for acupuncturists and the other is for the public on her entire program of Facial Rejuvenation utilizing acupuncture, massage, aromatherapy, Chinese and Western herbs, nutrition and supplements, facial exercises and flower essences. After eight years, Virginia now has completed her comprehensive instructional DVD series on Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture. Registration is at 12:30 pm. NOTE: Class runs from 1:00 pm - 6:00 pm on Friday, and 9:00 am - 6:00 pm Saturday and Sunday.
CEU's are 20 hours. Course qualifies for CTMCA and CNPBC Category 'C' CEU's. California Acupuncture Board (CAB) Category 1 approved, provider number 1234. NCCAOM approval pending, NCCAOM PDA provider number 168958.

WITHDRAWAL POLICY: For course withdrawals submitted in writing or in person 30 days or more before the start of the course, registrants will receive a full tuition refund less a $75 non-refundable registration fee. For course withdrawals submitted in writing or in person more than 14 days but less than 30 days before the start of the course, registrants will receive a 50% tuition refund. Without exception, no refunds will be given for course withdrawals less than 14 days before the start of the course, and after the course begins.
