Grants are known as a way to get “free money” to support your business but the reality is that there is a lot to the process and grant funds may or may not be a good fit.  In this intro to grants workshop, you will learn what grant funds really are, how to qualify, and most importantly how to make a clear decision on whether or not this is a good track for funding your business. Topics include:

  • Debunking myths about "free money" and grants available
  • Locating available funds for both for-profit and non-profit organizations
  • Real-life examples of people who have found different ways to fund their businesses
  • The basics of the grant-writing process
  • Identifying real-life, current funding opportunities
Presenter: Lorinda Gonzalez

Lorinda is the Director of Grants Ink, a Grant writing organization who trains Non Profit Organizations on how to secure funds from potential foundations, corporate and federal sources.   Lorinda brings over 10 years of grant writing experience to the team leading to over $12M in awarded funds from government, local and private funders.   She has taught over 100 workshops and is continually seeking new opportunities to learn the latest trends in proposal development, which she openly shares with students and clients.
