"The Use of Bibliotherapy in Play Therapy: Power Tools to Increase Self-Esteem

This presentation focuses on Bibliotherapy in Play Therapy, as an effective tool to increase self esteem with clients. Specific play therapy interventions including expressive tools will be discussed and modeled through interactive exercises. Participants will participate in expressive art activities that will boost self esteem with their clients, and that can be utilized with Bibliotherapy. Participants will be provided a list of resources to use in their practice. • Participants will review the power of Bibliotherapy and the theorists that promoted Bibliotherapy with Play Therapy. • Participants will learn about the power of Bibliotherapy and review the advantages of using Bibliotherapy with Play Therapy to increase self-esteem. • Participants will take part in interactive expressive art activities and obtain resources that will assist their clients in boosting their self-esteem through bibliotherapy and self-esteem. NOTE: 3 CEUs provided for 490, 491 and play therapy.

Lunch & Learn: "HIPAA Essentials for Professionals"

This one-hour workshop will provide a complimentary lunch and learn opportunity with a HIPAA HITECH Express presenter. At the end of this workshop participants will: 1-gain knowledge of HIPAA essentials 2-learn basics on how to implement HIPAA safeguards 3. learn basics on how to develop a business associates agreement and 4. learn when to provide business associates management agreements. NOTE: 1 CEU provided for 490 and 491 only.

"Supervision can be Playful"

This 3-hour, small-group workshop experience specific for Registered Play Therapist - Supervisors will have RPT-S' : 1- appreciating the manifestation of transference and counter-transference in play therapy and play therapy supervision 2. utilizing the media and tools of play therapy to deepen their own clinical effectiveness 3. practicing skills to assist peers and supervisees in play therapy supervision. NOTE: 3 CEUs provided for 490, 491 and play therapy supervision specific only.

GROUP SUPERVISION FOR PLAY THERAPISTS
Group supervisor:  Eliana Gil, Ph.D., RPT-S
1:30pm - 4:30pm
 limited to 30 participants
 
This supervision session will allow three participants to present a clinical case with a specific, salient issue.  Participants are encouraged to bring play therapy material for discussion (e.g., sand tray pictures, self-portraits, art work, or play themes).  Participants will be selected ahead of time and will be send a presentation format to follow.  After each presentation, the group supervisor will provide feedback and open it up to the group for additional discussion. NOTE: 3 Group Supervision Hours provided.

 These pre-conference workshops are sponsored by the Florida Association for Play Therapy (FAPT).  Full attendance is required for each workshop offered during the pre-conference program. Late arrivals and/or early departures will preclude the awarding of any continuing education credit.  FAPT maintains responsibility for this program and its content.
