Event is for middle- and high-school aged young people
and their mentors, pastors, and youthworkers.
In these first few days of Lent, participants will explore with each other the potentials and the promise of this holy season. With the temptation of Christ in the wilderness as our starting point, stage director and teacher Kristen Cairns will help use theater to begin our exploration. Music, spoken word, and the majestic Trinity Church worship space will all be utilized in the overnight as well. The highlight for many is the candlelit Taizé-inspired worship late at night in the darkened chancel of Trinity’s magnificent sanctuary.
The retreat concludes Sunday with everyone participating in the 9 AM Lent 1 service at Trinity followed by a group presentation to the Trinity congregation during their Sunday morning Adult Educational Forum.
The overnight event includes a meal on Saturday night and breakfast Sunday morning, plus plenty of snacks.
NOTE: This is a "lock-in" style overnight. Participants should be prepared to sleep on the floor of the church. Bring sleeping bags, pillows, and if desired, sleeping pads or mats. (The floor is carpeted.)
Cost: $15/person. Scholarship support is available upon request.
Each participant, both youth and adult, must come with completed "Consent" and "Medical/Emergency Contact Information" forms.
Advance registration is required.
