Seminar 2015-2016

Revelation and Politics

What does biblical faith say about biblical theology and does this affect our actions? Following several years of ecumenically infromed study on Poverty & Wealth then Theology & Jusitce it is time for an in-depth study on Revelation and Politics.

The South Carolina Christian Action Council is pleased to continue to sponsor educational opportunities for clergy and laity to study, share and celebrate biblical theology in ecumenical settings through assigned readings and class discussions.

Register now for our monthly seminars on major theological themes. Seminars will include assigned readings and engage participants in ecumenical discussions. Special emphasis will be given to the issue of God's justice.

 Over the nine seminar sessions participants will:

  • Broaden and deepen their understanding of the New testament book: The Revelation of John
  • Understand and celebrate various Christian traditions
  • Be equipped to respond to God's call for Justice

Instructor:

The Rev. Dr. William "Bill" Rogers is a retired United Methodist pastor, currently pastoring twto congregations. He studied in the Pastor/Theologian program at the Princeton Center of Theological Inquiry, participating with clergy of various denominations from the United States and Europe. He has led many seminars of theological issues in South Carolina.

Bill holds several graduate and postgraduate degrees from Emory, Lutheran, University of South Carolina, and Erskine Seminary including a doctorate in ministry. He completed five years of Clinical Pastoral Education, taught philosophy and is finishing another masters and doctoral degree.

Seminar Administrator:

Marguerite Jones. Marguerite holds a Masters +30 Degree in elementary education and taught for 38 years at Spearman Elementary in Anderson School District 1. She has held state and national offices and currently serves as an International Officer in honorary education organization. Marguerite has participated in the seminars for five years.

Registration:

Each participant must register (go to the Register Now! link below) and pay the registration fee of $150. Payment can be via credit card, paypal or check. If paying by check, please make check payable to SCCAC and mail with printed and completed copy of registration to P.O. Box 3248, Columbia, SC 29230.
