As Scouting passes its first century of service to America, we continue to stand for traditional values and objectives. Character-building, Citizenship training, Self-reliance, Outdoor adventure, Patriotism, and Respect for others – these are the values we instill in youth. These values have helped build America and will always remain fundamental to Scouting.
In 2015, the Gulf Stream Council will serve over 9,000 youth in Tiger Cubs, Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, Exploring, Venturing, Sea Scouts and our Learning for Life programs. There will be over 3,000 Adult volunteers providing countless hours of time and energy to over 250 Cub Scout Packs, Boy Scout Troops, and Explorer Posts, Venturing Crews and Sea Scout Ships throughout the seven county area we serve.
The Gulf Stream Council is giving more than just lip service to our youths’ immediate needs. Beyond our traditional programs, we are attacking drug abuse, child abuse, illiteracy, unemployment, and hunger.
Our annual budget of over $2.2 Million is supported by numerous contributions from Friends of Scouting, and special events – such as this Clays for Scouts Sporting Clays Invitational. It provides a great opportunity to help one of our local community’s most important youth programs and, at the same time, have fun!
Sponsorship of this vital event will help to raise the critical funds that truly “make a difference” in the lives of the youth of our local communities.
