"There is no great genius without some touch of madness." --Aristotle
The theme of the 2017 KPLA Conference is Libraries: The Community's Classroom. We are excitedly encouraging our presenters and attendees to delve deep into their knowledge repositories and openly share their experiences, talents, gifts, education, and skills. Knowledge is meant to be freely shared and we can simply think of no better place to do it than at the KPLA 2017 Conference.
Sign up for a session and wow, impress, and enthuse your audience as you demonstrate your techniques for working with and imparting knowledge onto patrons, fellow staff members, supervisors, boards, committees, elected officials, or/and members of the community.
Demonstrate your prowess as you carefully avoid the overly pedantic and pompous use of pedagocial terminology, while at the same time successfully demonstrating how to effectively break down silos to meld minds with others.
Show how you employ active and passive teaching/learning to mix it up a bit, play games, challenge and encourage thought, and most of all have fun.
Share examples of successful programs, services, technologies, and techniques.
Ultimately, we just want to encourage everyone to share! After all, as a wise (yet unnamed) man in Belgium once said, "The only reason we are put on Earth is to help each other out."
The deadline for submission of program proposals is February 1, 2017.
