October Weekend 2014:

All You Need is Love!

WHO: Open to all youth grades 8-12 and their adult advisors

DATES: October 10-12, 2014

TIMES: Check-in is 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Friday.  Departure is 11:00 a.m. on Sunday.

LOCATION: Chanco on the James in Surry, VA

FEE: $120.00

ABOUT: Visit Camp Chanco on the James River for a weekend in the woods with teens from all over our diocese!  October Weekend  features great music, small groups, socials and games, meaningful discussions, a dance, and really incredible worship experiences.  Come experience the presence of God in community!

ACCOMODATIONS AND MEALS: Chalets (screened cabins with bunk beds) and communal bath houses.  Bring your sleeping bag and linens!  All meals on Saturday and breakfast on Sunday included, along with plenty of snacks throughout the weekend.

ABOUT YOUTH EVENTS: Youth programs in the Episcopal Diocese of Southern of Southern Virginia are designed to offer a variety of opportunities for a diverse pool of youth.  All programs seek to form disciples of Jesus through worship, fellowship, education, service and wellness. 

Episcopal Youth Community: EYC is the usual name for youth groups in the Episcopal Church, both at the parish and diocesan levels.  In the Episcopal Diocese of Southern Virginia, seasonal weekend retreats are offered for both Junior and Senior High youth.  These events are largely designed by the EYC Board, a group of Senior High youth who have been selected to serve as leaders in the community.  EYC weekends provide a special opportunity to make connections to the wider Episcopal Church in a welcoming, positive, energetic and faith-filled environment.
