YRA of SF Bay Presents: Racer Social #2- Kame Richards talks Tides and Currents of San Francisco Bay

The next in our new series of YRA Racer Socials is set for April 18th and features a presentation by Kame Richards of Pineapple Sails on San Francisco Bay tides and currents.

Kame is a renowned racer and sail maker, and is an expert on the tides of San Francisco Bay, having sailed the bay area waters for many years and studied the tides like few others have. This exceptional presentation and slide show on the tides and currents of San Francisco Bay is not to be missed if you’re serious about sailing well on the bay.  Kame’s presentation emphasizes how sailors can apply tide and current knowledge to great advantage- helping racers to be more competitive and cruisers to reach their destinations faster and in more comfort.  Kame has also indicated that he just might share a few insights regarding the tides for the upcoming Vallejo race!

Our first social was a huge success and we are looking forward to continuing this series.  We hope these Racer Socials will add new vigor to the racing community by providing a series of events where racers and their crew can gather to hear interesting presentations about racing. We want to provide an opportunity for racers to rub shoulders with each other and talk about their passion for racing and sailing. Skippers, please invite your crew, family members, friends, or anyone who helps in your racing endeavors. They are all important members of the racing community, and we value their participation in the Racer Socials.

The Berkeley Yacht Club will open at 6:00pm and the tides discussion will start at 7:00pm. The event will include a no host bar. This event is FREE, but is limited to only 135 participants so please register soon.

We look forward to seeing you on Thursday the 18th!
