Joan Gabel is the 17th president of the University of Minnesota which includes five campuses, nearly 67,000 students and more than 27,000 faculty and staff. Gabel most recently served as executive vice president at the University of South Carolina, where she revitalized scholarly enterprise, launched dynamic programs and expanded diversity.
