About The Program

The Occupational Health and Safety Act has introduced stringent new requirements through Bill 132 with regard to ensuring the psychological health and safety of all Ontario workers. Bullying, Harassment and Sexual Harassment must now be prevented, managed and investigated in a legally and psychologically sound manner to protect employees and prevent liability.

The Ontario Psychological Association (OPA) and BizLife Solutions are partnering with the Human Resource Professionals Association (HRPA) to offer a Certificate Program in the Management of Workplace Mental Health and Psychological Safety.

Many workplace mental health issues are the result of exposure to toxic interpersonal behaviour. This intensive three-day certificate program effectively equips human resource professionals and other professionals with the ability to conduct thorough and sound investigations regarding harassment, including sexual harassment and to understand, prevent and manage and mental health issues arising from these toxic interpersonal hazards.

The program is presented by a stellar faculty of leading psychologists, lawyers and business experts, all of whom impart practical knowledge and skills that equip HR professionals to understand, prevent and manage harassment, including sexual harassment as well as hone their skills to address mental health issues as they present uniquely in the workplace.

Participants will develop a tangible Action Plan for preventing, managing and responding to the complexities and challenges of psychological safety and mental health issues in the workplace as part of their certificate of completion.

Why this Certification is Essential

Managing Mental Health and Psychological Safety is a “must” competency in today’s work environment. By completing this Certificate Program attendees will learn valuable and practical knowledge, skills and tools that they can begin implementing immediately. Participants will leave with a tangible Action Plan for preventing, managing and responding to the complexities and challenges of mental health issues in the workplace.

Are you ready?

The Occupational Health and Safety Act has been amended by Bill 132.  As of September 2016 the Ontario government has enacted stringent new measures on employers to manage and prevent harassment, including sexual harassment, also referred to as “psychological violence.”

This is good news as it provides employers the opportunity to address these issues from a legal and psychological perspective in order to reduce mental health issues in the workplace.

This comprehensive Certificate Program provides you the information and tools you need to create a respectful, mentally healthy and psychologically safe workplace that is also compliant with the new range of requirements of Bill 132.

Each course in this educational, insightful and practical Certificate Program is developed and delivered by leading psychologists, lawyers, and business leaders.
