Public Workshop on Implementation of the U.S. Seafood Import Monitoring Program
October 2, 2017 - Halifax, NS
The National Marine Fisheries Service ("NOAA Fisheries") invites importers, exporters, brokers and all those interested in learning more about the implementation of the U.S. Seafood Import Monitoring Program (SIMP) to attend a public workshop on Monday, October 2, 2017, 10:00AM - 2:30PM ADT, at the Bill Ford Auditorium, 1 Challenger Drive, Dartmouth, NS, B3B1A6.
This workshop will include an overview of SIMP, its implementation and requirements. There will also be ample time for participant questions. Effective January 1, 2018, SIMP will require importers to report and retain traceability data —from the point of harvest to the point of entry into U.S. commerce—for seafood from 13 species/species groups.
