Ethics for Ohio Counselors, Social Workers and Marriage and Family Therapists July 2019

This workshop will satisfy the 3 clock hours in ethics required by the Ohio Counselor, Social Worker & Marriage and Family Therapist Board.
This program will provide an overview of ethical codes. The codes put forth by ACA, NASW and AAMFT as well as by the State of Ohio will be discussed. Issues such as appropriate boundaries, gift-giving and receiving, record keeping, social media and impaired practitioners will be discussed and attendees will have the opportunity to raise their own ethical questions. Moral principles will be addressed and a decision-making model will be presented for attendees. Documentation will be a focus of the training, and the training will conclude with case studies.
Goals/objectives:
- To review the ethical codes from the professional associations as well as the State of Ohio
- To discuss the moral principles as a viable source of guidance for ethical dilemmas
- To review an ethical decision-making model.
Presenter: Rochelle Dunn is a Licensed Clinical Counselor (LPCC-S) for The State of Ohio and a Licensed Professional School Counselor. Rochelle has spent the past 19 years helping to develop mental health programs to be implemented by schools. Dr Dunn is a senior lecturer with The Ohio State University in the Counselor Education Program and coordinates the mental health program for Gahanna Jefferson Public Schools. Rochelle Dunn provides numerous trainings for school personnel and for practicing Counselors and Social Workers.
Continuing Education Counselors, Social Workers, and Marriage and Family Therapists: The Child Focus, Inc. Training Center is approved through the Ohio Counselor and Social Worker Board. This program is offered for 3.0 clock hours of continuing education for counselors, social workers, and marriage and family therapists.
