Please mark your calendar to come and join Braniff Airways Foundation and the City of Buffalo, Texas, for a very special 60th Anniversary ceremony to honor the passengers and families of Braniff International Flight 542, on September 26, 2019, at 1:30PM. Special memorial plaques will be dedicated to the City of Buffalo and the passengers, crew members, Braniff employees and families of the lost Electra Flight as well as those affected on the ground.
The event will be held at Buffalo High School Gymnasium, located at 1724 North Buffalo Avenue, Texas 75831. The school has graciously offered to host the event in their gymnasium. The dedication of the new plaques will be held in downtown Buffalo but the plaques will be presented during the ceremony.
Braniff Airways Foundation will present the new plaques that will be made from stainless steel and laser engraved. Each passenger's name will be laser engraved on the plaque along with an engraved tribute to the passengers and families.
The second plaque will honor the 60th Anniversary of the accident and both plaques will be placed side by side at the City Hall in downtown Buffalo. A special plaque it has also been proposed for placement at the accident site.
