September 25, 2019 Presbytery Gathering
"Reconciliation"
Dear Sisters and Brother in Christ,
The change of the calendar is coming quickly and with it, the time to turn our attention to September’s presbytery meeting . It is now time to start registering for our gathering. As we continue on our journey of Reconciliation, we turn to the issues of racial reconciliation as applied to our young people. On Wednesday, September 25, we will gather at Good Shepherd Trinity Church to worship, listen, reflect, and conduct business as is appropriate. Our speaker that day will be Dr. Bettina Love, the author of the book We Want to Do More Than Survive. Dr. Love will talk with us about the issues of race in education and how it significantly impacts children of color in their learning and development. She will also give some suggestions of what we, as followers of the one who welcomed children, and our congregations can do to address these issues to allow all to flourish as God has envisioned.
Also on that day we will welcome Rev. Lydia Neshangwe, an international peacemaker from Zimbabwe, to lead us in a pre-presbytery conversation about peace and justice on a global scale as well as preach during our time of worship.

3:30 pm - Orientation for 1st time commissioners
3:50 pm - Announcements

5 pm - Worship
5:45 pm - Dinner
6:30-8:30 pm - Keynote - Dr. Bettina L. Love
Please invite your friends, neighbors, and fellow Presbyterians (even if they aren’t going to be voting members) to learn about these important topics in the life of our country and the world and how we, as Christians, can respond. I encourage you to register soon so when the reminder emails go out, you can feel smug knowing that you are already registered.
