May 24, 2022 "Hybrid" Presbytery Gathering (In Person or via Zoom)

Dear Friends in Christ,

I am pleased to announce that the upcoming gathering of work and worship on May 24, 2022 will be a hybrid meeting venued at Carroll University. What this means is that you have the option of attending in person or joining us via Zoom. Whether you feel comfortable meeting in person or prefer to attend remotely, together we will celebrate our first in-person Presbytery meeting since COVID shut down life as we knew it in March of 2020!

At this meeting we are focusing on Lifelong Discipleship, including faith formation, one of the seven marks of ministry vitality. To assist us with that, we will be graced with the in-person attendance of Stephanie Fritz, Mission Coordinator for Christian Formation from the Presbyterian Mission Agency, and the Rev. Rodger Nishioka, senior associate pastor and director of adult faith formation at Village Presbyterian Church in Prairie Village, Kansas. Both will facilitate discussion on Lifelong Discipleship during our business meeting, and Rodger will deliver the sermon during worship.

Further, in celebration of us meeting at Carroll University, we will hear from Carroll's Chaplain and Director of Spiritual Life, the Rev. Elizabeth McCord, and Ministry Resident Jackie Rodriquez about the chaplain residency program at Carroll, which is partially funded by the Presbytery. Both will also participate in our worship.

You may register for either in-person or remote attendance below. For those attending in person, we will share a sit-down dinner at Carroll between the business meeting and worship. Your cost of dinner will be $12 (with the Presbytery underwriting the additional cost of dinner).  This is a catered meal, and we must let Carroll know accurate numbers for people eating dinner, so your registration for dinner is needed now, and to streamline the registration process, we are asking that when you register you also pay for dinner using a credit card.  Note that we ALL will share in communion whether via Zoom or in person, and that we will provide communion elements to those who attend in person.

We note that this will be the last gathering before Presbytery Executive Rachel Yates leaves us, so the gathering will also serve as a farewell and thank you to her.

We are mindful that COVID remains a concern for all of us.  Although masks currently are optional at Carroll University, attendees are welcome to wear masks. If Carroll's mask policy changes  between now and May 24th, we will inform you before the meeting.

We look forward to sitting at a table of community and communion together on Tuesday, May 24, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. We can’t wait to be with you again!

Please be sure to register for the meeting below.

See you soon!

Moderator, Presbytery of Milwaukee

Online in-person registration is now closed. Please continue if registering for Zoom attendance.

Walk in registration for the gathering is welcomed, but dinner is not guaranteed.
