The Florida oyster industry plays a huge role in the economy along the coast and has suffered in the past few years due to problems like fights over fresh water, the effects of the Deepwater Horizon oil spill and the impact of predatory species.  However, a cultivation method new to Florida is helping to change that.

Please join us for our next TechTopics event, where you will learn about the oyster’s role in the ecosystem, and how companies like Panacea Oysters Coop are helping to restore and revitalize local waters by using cultivation methods to farm oysters.

Speakers for the event:

-Dr. Sandra Brooke, Research Faculty II at the FSU Coastal and Marine Lab

-Bob Ballard, Executive Director of the Wakulla Environmental Institute

-Rob Olin, CEO of the Panacea Oyster CoOp Corp.

Register below to let us know you can make it! *Deadline to register by is Monday, August 28th.

*Lunch is provided at the event to all attendees
