Strategic Leadership in the “New Normal": Engaging Members, Maintaining Relevance and Offering Value

Led by Karen Armstead.  Karen’s academic work in persuasive communications, decision-making strategies and multi-cultural competency has led to diverse consulting and training contracts. She has worked as coach to executives and their key staff, facilitated team building and organizational change programs, and led training workshops for universities, governmental agencies, professional development organizations, for-profit corporations, and non-profits. Recently, she has focused on consulting with managers and organizations to expand their marketing capabilities and organizational productivity. She also led a project to document the leadership experiences and management styles of successful Asian women leaders in Puget Sound and Japan.

Armstead Consulting is certified by Washington State as a woman-owned business in the areas of professional training, management consulting and organizational development. The tagline for her business is “helping organizations and people achieve new futures.” This phrase reflects Karen’s passion for helping to provide people and organizations with insights, tools and resources so they can make a difference.

Division Board Led Break-Out Sessions

We will break into small groups lead by one of the Division Board Members. A group for each: Presidents, Presidents-Elect, Vice Presidents, Secretaries and Treasurers.Based on attendance, we will also have a group (s) for webmasters, newsletter editors, membership chairs, etc. Each group will discuss the successes and challenges we are facing and brainstorm ideas for re-energizing our chapters.
