Historically farmworkers have faced many barriers when coming to work in the United States. With the current negative sentiments by many towards immigrants, it is imperative that those that serve this population or have an interest in farmworkers understand the current regulations and likely pressures they will face in the future.
Did you know that a person's immigration status may be in jeopardy because of certain benefits they have received? The National Immigration Law Center will be explaining all of the "ins and outs" of the new "public charge" rule.
Why is it crucial that we recognize farmworkers when they present in our health centers? The National Center for Farmworker Health will educate us on how these numbers impact funding.
Did you know that the agricultural farmworker population is changing? We'll hear about the latest trends of farmworkers landing in Upstate New York and how certain industries may now qualify to receive authorized immigrant workers.
