Bill Stillman is the award-winning author of 10 autism and special needs parenting books including his ground breaking work, Autism and the God Connection. An adult with Asperger’s Syndrome, a mild “cousin” of autism, Stillman has worked to serve people with different ways of being since 1987. Stillman’s unique logic and unconventional perspective is valued for insight from the inside-out.

He has been dubbed "The Autism Whisperer," by talk show host Frankie Picasso, for his innate ability to understand and interpret children and adults on the autism spectrum. Lisa Jo Rudy, About.com's autism moderator, has said, "William Stillman is one of the few who can translate the workings of the autistic mind to the neuro-typical community." And Kelly Jad'on, of Internet news outlet BasilandSpice.com, stated, "William Stillman dares to go where few have gone before; without a doubt, he is the forerunner of the beginning of a movement which will alter the development and future of mankind."

Demystifying Autism

This one day presentation will guide participants toward a greater understanding and a heightened awareness of those who have an autism spectrum experience---from a purely non-clinical, anecdotal perspective based upon what people are telling us about their experience. The discussion lays the foundation of best practice approaches by presenting an overview of our collective differences and similarities in communication, social interaction, sensory, learning, and movement. A short film puts images to these philosophies, and provides further testimony from people who speak to their autistic experience. Participants will also experience two autism simulation exercises and will leave the day with seven golden rules of autism.
