Develop a Plan to Address
Avoidant Patterns of Unwanted Behavior in Children

Description: Reflect on observations of children's unwanted avoidant behavior and respond quickly to support newly developing skills. Use observations to plan meaningful teaching opportunities to teach newly developing skills. Communicate plans to teach new skills to family members based on assessment results. Prerequisites:
It is required that participants have taken the level 1 course: "Assessing Avoidant Patterns of Behavior in Children".
It is recommended that participants have taken the Level 1 course, "Pretend You Are a Light Switch! (web-based)", which is exclusively owned by Behave Your Best. CLICK HERE to access the course for FREE 

Additional recommended prerequisite courses include: "Teach Behavior Regulation Without Talking", "Teach Social Skills to Prevent or Replace Unwanted Behavior in the Group Setting", "Teach Children to Listen the FIRST Time", "Teach Children to Make Choices to Set the Foundation for Behavior Regulation", "Combat Impulsivity: Teach Children to Wait and Accept No", and "Teach Children to Transition Successfully in the Group Setting".

We will work with you to the best of our abilities to help you complete the prerequisites. Please email jamie@behaveyourbest.com if you would like to attend and: 1-Need credit in Develop in MN, AND 2-Have NOT participated in the prerequisite courses.

All materials will be emailed to registrants. Make sure to check your junk/bulk folders. Registrants will receive 3 emails:
1) Pre test, Zoom link and passcode to join the webinar- delivered the evening prior to the webinar; or for late registrations- delivered after 1pm the day of the webinar.
2) Post test immediately following the webinar.
3) PowerPoint, a certificate of completion and the recording of the event sent within 10-12 days following the webinar; upon completion of all requirements.All materials will be emailed to registrants. Make sure to check your junk/bulk folders.

Our webinars are hosted using Zoom meeting rooms. 


This is a Level 2 course approved in MNCPD (MN) areas:

  • Knowledge and Competency Framework Areas: IV.B: Assessing and Using Information to Plan (2 Hours)
  • CDA Content Areas: Content Area VII: Observing and recording children’s behavior (2 Hours)
*Also approved in Gateways (IL)

To receive continuing education credit (Develop/Gateways):

  • Registrants need to complete a pre-test prior to or during the first 10 minutes of the webinar.
  • Post-test must be completed by 3 pm on the Friday following each webinar. Scores on post-tests need to be higher than scores on pre-test scores to earn continuing education credit. 
  • Trainer will provide a 4-digit numerical code, one digit at a time, throughout the webinar. Attendees need to make note of the code to enter it on the post-test, confirming active participation throughout the 2-hour webinar to receive continuing education credit. 
  • Prerequisite course requirements must be met. 
Registration:
  • Early registration fee is $25, which applies when you register by the end of the day on the Sunday before each webinar. 
  • Late registration fee is $35, which applies if you register one day prior to or the same day as the event
  • Free for teacher of partner schools. Check with your director for a promo code.
  • Registration closes at 12 PM CST day of the webinar.
