Keynote Speaker

Archimandrite Meletios (Webber) will be the Keynote speaker for the conference. Fr. Meletios is the Archmandrite of St. John of Shanghai and San Fransisco Monastery, Manton, Califorinia. Fr. Meletios was educated at Dulwich College and Oxford University, and has a doctorate in psychological counseling. He has served the Orthodox Church in Greece, Great Britain, the Netherlands, Montana, and California.

Hotel Accomodation

The Fairfield Inn & Suites - Dallas Market Center will provide for our accommodation needs. A rate of $79.00 has been available. Please mention the group name "Inter-Orthodox Youth Workers Conference" to receive the special rate.

Logistics

Booking Flights: Dallas Love Field is 8 minutes from the Fairfield Inn & Suites. Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport is 20 minutes from the Hotel.

Transportation: Participants are responsible for their own transportation to and from the airport. The Fairfield Inn does not provide transportation service to either of the airports. For your transportation needs  you can either use taxi services (appx. $40.00 one-way) or reserve a SuperShuttle online at: Dallas/Fort Worth ; Dallas Love Field or call 817.329.2000

Transportation between the hotel and church will be provided.

4The Camp and Youth Workers Conference is an annual two day workshop for those Orthodox clergy and laity desiring to provide the best possible camping and youth ministry experience for their parish, deanery or diocese.  By attending the Conference you can:

The Venue: Saint Seraphim Orthodox Cathedral

The site for the 2011 Camp and Youth Worker Conference is St. Seraphim Cathedral in Dallas, Texas.

 

 

St. Seraphim's is located just a short distance north from downtown Dallas, and within twenty-minutes of both major airports. All sessions will be held at the cathedral.

Who Should Attend?

The Camp and Youth Worker Conference is open to attendees over 18 years of age from any Orthodox jurisdiction.

It will provide an opportunity for camp and youth workers to come together for learning, common worship and prayer, and good fellowship. The sessions will be of partigroupcular value to:

  • Any youth worker desiring to learn more about their own faith or to help energize their parish/deanery/diocese camp and/or youth program.
  • Camp workers seeking to bring a new ideas to their programs.
  • Youth leaders & clergy camp and youth workers looking to discover new ideas and learn from the good practices of others.
