APICS Tampa Bay, the premier professional association for supply chain management, invites local supply chain, operations, transportation, logistics and distribution professionals to our Professional Development Meeting on Tuesday, May 9, 2017 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the DoubleTree Hotel Tampa Airport Westshore, 4500 W. Cypress Street, Tampa, FL 33607.  

Our guest speaker is is Mr. Lucas Sauer, Senior Management Consultant with MAZ-tec & Associates, LLC. Mr. Sauer will be speaking on the topic of "Lean: How to Start Your First Kaizen Event." 

As a lean practicioner, leader or team member of a small team or large organization, you may be asking yourself “ how do I start my first Kaizen event?”

Everyone has an opportunity, challenge or project that needs to be improved and why not start now using Kaizen? Keep in mind it is not a flavor of the month and is a commitment to yourself and your team!

This webinar will provide a road map to distinguish between a project or activity and a Kaizen event with case studies, and a framework to get started with a successful event.

Starting with several questions for management to answer through the event scoping, prep work and execution of that first event will be highlighted as well as lessons learned over hundreds of events.

Mr. Lucas Sauer

Lucas "Luke" Sauer is a Senior Management Consultant with MAZ-tec & Associates, LLC.

Mr. Sauer brings 30 plus years of manufacturing and operations experience with a passion for continuous improvement.Luke started his career at Milliken, at 3 textile plants, with successive promotions to plant superintendent of one largest weave mills in the US. Luke then worked for a medical device company supporting the continuous improvement journey culture change as Focused Factory Manager / Director of Operations and Continuous Improvement Champion / Engineer.

Luke's facilitated hundreds of events at various sites as well as benchmarking many companies throughout his career gaining insights on best Lean practices.Luke has trained over 500 professionals, managers, facilitators, team leaders, the most important resource in the organization, the value added employees that perform the work.
