January 8, 2019 Professional Development Meeting

Strategic Thinking and TOWS

APICS Tampa Bay would like to invite our members and their colleagues to attend our Professional Development Meeting from 6:00-8:00 PM on Tuesday, January 8.

Our guest speaker is Mr. Craig Williams. He will be presenting on the topic of strategic thinking and TOWS.

Effective change management requires strategic planning to identify the market vision and path to the desired future state.  Operations tactical decision-making and actions drive the enterprise from the current status to meet this future state.  At least they're supposed to.  How well this happens is directly influenced by your enterprise's strategic planning talent, policies and procedures.

"Strategic Thinking and TOWS" is presentation covering two related concepts: a review of effective strategic thinking and planning practices and an interactive presentation on TOWS, an updated, advanced version of SWOT.

TOWS takes SWOT and upgrades it to provide a more structured, time-phased and prioritized approach, adding strategic-to-tactical planning linkages.  Using TOWS effectively "pulls" your operations tactical planning and decision-making towards your identified future market state.

This interactive presentation will have a live, group TOWS exercise to model the process.  The principles discussed should be applicable with almost all enterprise activities.
