Join Free Spirit Staff and Friends for a Monthly Outdoor Skills Gathering
Nature awareness, tracking and movement, knife carving, friction fires, outdoor cooking, hand-made tools and utensils, winter survival and more!
$175 for the 5 class series or $35 per class drop-in rate.
Led by trained and experienced outdoor and primitive skills specialists. All supplies are provided.
Joe Blevis – studied at Tom Brown’s Tracker School, teaches kids and adults skills including nature awareness, movement and tracking, shelter building, bow drill fires, and more.
Bex Carter - Director at Free Spirit Nature Camp and teacher at The Birch School, former staff at Camp Thoreau in Vt, teaches outdoor skills, awareness, cordage, fire, camoflauge, team-building games and problem-solving challenges.
Max Gaydos - Crafts master and knife skills teacher, carving artist and student of the slöjd, a place where people make the things they need using simple tools and materials that are all around them.

March 23 Coal burned utensils continued, survival techniqes and tips
April 27 – basic wood carving and knife skills, ecology games
May 11 - Fire-making - Outdoor cooking over open fire, bow drill fires,
