Introductory Level Photography Workshop

What you will need to bring to the workshop

A DSLR kit (camera body and any lenses you use), a charged battery, and a blank memory card. 

If you will need a loaner, please indicate on the registration form.

During this workshop, you will learn:

The principles of how to make beautiful images (exposure, aperture, and shutter speed)

How to select purposeful settings for your camera

About the Instructor

Join Ms. Sarah Kristiensen as she shares the secrets of "moving outside the Little Green Box" on your camera to create distinctive, memorable photography! Ms. Kristiensen, 2022 District Teacher of the Year, is an English Language Arts instructor at TGS.  Prior to joining our teaching staff, she worked for twenty years as a wedding/lifestyle photographer.  During that time, she conducted numerous photography workshops.  Working with Ms. Kristiensen, you will have the opportunity to create some practice imagages at the conclusion of the session. 

 The Greene School is a tuition-free statewide charter high school and Rhode Island's only Expeditionary Learning School (eleducation.org).  Using expeditions on our rural campus and across the state, we emphasize environmental education to connect students to the natural world. 

Come explore our 70 acre campus, tour our three buildings, and meet some of teachers, students, and our administration. Find out what makes us unique and learn about our mission to develop citizens and leaders engaged in finding peaceful and sustainable solutions to local and global challenges.

¡Únase a la Sra. Sarah Kristiensen mientras comparte los secretos de "moverse fuera de la pequeña caja verde" en su cámara para crear fotografías distintivas y memorables! La Sra. Kristiensen, Maestra del Año del Distrito 2022, es instructora de Artes del Lenguaje Inglés en TGS. Antes de unirse a nuestro personal docente, trabajó durante veinte años como fotógrafa de bodas y estilo de vida. Durante ese tiempo, realizó numerosos talleres de fotografía. Al trabajar con la Sra. Kristiensen, tendrá la oportunidad de crear algunas imágenes de práctica al final de la sesión.
