The Western NE Section of the Society of Plastics Engineers is hosting a Technology Event and Plant Tour of Sabic Innovative Plastics' Polymer Processing Development Center (PPDC) and the Berkshire Innovation Center (BIC) Technology Incubator Building at the William Stanley Business Park in Pittsfield MA.

The first event is a tour of Sabic's Polymer Processing Development Center demonstrating large-scale Additive Manufacturing and Thermoplastic Composites, followed by two 45 minute lectures related to advanced thermoplastic materials. Each participant will receive a certificate for three CEUs. Topics include:
The second event at 5:30 PM is a tour of the nearby Berkshire Innovation Center, a nearly completed 20,000 sf laboratory, classroom and manufacturing space for tech companies and entrepreneurs located at 45 Woodlawn Ave. Funded by Mass Life Sciences Center in partnership with area businesses and the City of Pittsfield, the BIC will contain specialized equipment and work space for R&D across many disciplines.
The mission of the BIC is to assist small to medium size companies in the Berkshire region in their efforts to innovate products and processes.
