Big Clothing Drives

WHO: Nonprofit organizations, leagues, churches, scout troops, PTA/PTO groups, schools and more.

WHAT:  Collect donations of clothing, shoes, handbags, and other fabric items like sheets, towels, and curtains from your friends, family, and community members.

WHEN: You decide the timeline, however, we recommend that fundraisers last at least a month. The more you collect, the more you raise!

HOW: To sign up, email us: donations@bigsri.org. Call us: (401) 921-2434. Find us: donateri.org . We provide marketing materials to help advertise your fundraiser, you collect the product and we can pick it up or you can drop it off.

WHY: Raise funds for your cause and support one-to-one mentoring relationships. For 56 years, our agency has supported hundreds of young people and diverted millions of pounds of cloth out of the Rhode Island landfills.

The Donation Center Foundation of Rhode Island

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Rhode Island (BBBSRI) is the largest and oldest youth mentoring organization in the State of Rhode Island. Our mission is to create and support one-to-one mentoring relationships that ignite the power and promise of youth.

The Donation Center Foundation of Rhode Island is dedicated to re-purposing your clothing and household goods, in an effort to make a meaningful difference in our communities. Our Donation Center opened in 1997. Originally designed as the Big Sister Fund to support Big Sisters of Rhode Island, the Donation Center now accounts for 70% of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Rhode Island’s annual operating income, which supports impactful one-to-one mentoring relationships throughout all of Rhode Island and also raises more than $150K for local Rhode Island and Massachusetts nonprofit organizations. In addition to supporting our local communities, we keep 3-5 million pounds of waste from local landfills.
