Make a Run for Peace

Race Details:  This 5.3 mile run will begin and end at the Bear Creek entrance to Briones Park.  Participants may drive to the starting point ($3 parking fee) or take BART to the Lafayette station, where buses will shuttle runners to and from the event. Please arrive by 8:00 AM. The shuttle will run between 7:30 and 8:10 AM.

Enjoy spectacular views of Mt. Diablo and the Carquinez Straits.  The route will take runners out the Abrigo Valley trail to the Briones Crest Trail, which they will stay on until it intersects with the Old Briones Road Trail, which they will follow back to the starting point. There is only one steep uphill with about 400 ft of elevation gain, but otherwise just light rolling terrain. 

Following the run, participants will enjoy refreshments provided by volunteers. The shuttle buses will transport runners back to BART, and will continue shuttling until everyone needing a ride to BART is accommodated.

Winners in each male and female age division will be rewarded with gift certificates to fine restaurants, sporting goods stores and department stores.  All participants who register by May 8 will receive a colorful t-shirt.

All proceeds benefit the Mt. Diablo Peace and Justice Center.
