Retreat Director: Fr. Thomas Vendetti, LC
Born in Rockville, MD, Fr. Thomas joined the novitiate of the Legion of Christ in Connecticut in 1995. Since his ordination to the priesthood in 2009, he has served in the New York Tristate area for four years as vice rector and director of development for the Legionaries’ center of philosophy in Thornwood, NY, as well as chaplain for Regnum Christi in Manhattan. From 2013 to 2016, Fr. Thomas was local director and chaplain for Regnum Christi in Chicago. He is currently serving in the Bay Area as director for Our Lady of Santa Clara Retreat Center and chaplain for Regnum Christi.
Fr. Thomas studied philosophy and theology at the Pontifical Athenaeum Regina Apostolorum in Rome and obtained a licentiate in philosophy and bachelors in theology. He recently completed his M.A. in Christian Spirituality at Fordham University in NY, focusing on the Ignatian Spiritual Exercises.
About Our Lady of Santa Clara Retreat Center
Located in the foothills of Cupertino, Our Lady of Santa Clara Retreat Center offers an optimal setting with its scenic view of the Bay Area, nearby hiking trails, healthy meals, and comfortable facilities including a spacious, personal bedroom with an ensuite bathroom.
Some consideration for your retreat:
- If you are flying to the retreat, the closest major airport: San Jose International Airport (SJC). Please let us know if transportation help from the airport to the retreat center is needed.
- After each spiritual talk, a time of personal meditation is scheduled. Since it is encouraged to attend an ignatian retreat annually, every year a new set of Ignatian talks are presented.
- Other important elements of this retreat are the reverent celebration of the Holy Mass, Solemn Eucharistic Adoration and Benediction, visits to the Blessed Sacreament. Besides offering the Sacrament of Confession, Fr. Thomas will be available to meet individually throughout the retreat. This is another helpful tool to making your retreat more fruitful.
- Please bring your Bible, Rosary, and notebook, as well as toiletries.
- Silence throughout the retreat is an expressed stipulation of St. Ignatius. You will find that the external silence helps to create an environment of recollection and devolition that allows God to do great works within your soul. Retraetants are expected to follow the schedule of the retraet.
- Private room (double-bed) with en-suite.
